Diagnostics
Every work-up begins with a detailed history and a clinical neurological examination. Depending on the question at hand, we add instrument-based and standardized tests to clarify leading symptoms in the differential diagnosis or to optimize the course of treatment.
Electroencephalography (EEG)
A recording of the brain’s electrical activity through scalp electrodes — painless and free of radiation. It is used, among other things, for seizure disorders, unexplained episodes of altered consciousness, and monitoring over time. We use modern dry-electrode systems: they need no conductive gel, are markedly quicker to set up, and are more comfortable to wear — ideal for a straightforward and, if needed, repeatable recording, with no hair-washing afterwards.
Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS)
An examination of the electrical activity of muscles and the conduction of peripheral nerves. It is used for polyneuropathies, nerve entrapment syndromes (such as carpal tunnel syndrome), and muscle disorders.
Neurosonology and neuromuscular ultrasound
High-resolution ultrasound of peripheral nerves and muscles (NMUS) and of the brain-supplying vessels (neurosonology) — radiation-free and painless. Used for nerve entrapment syndromes (such as carpal tunnel syndrome), nerve injuries, and muscle disorders, as well as in stroke work-up and aftercare.
Evoked potentials (EP)
A measurement of signal conduction along sensory, visual, auditory, and motor pathways (SEP, VEP, AEP, MEP). We place particular emphasis on motor evoked potentials (MEP) using transcranial magnetic stimulation — optionally navigation-guided (neuronavigation) to localize the stimulation site and pathway precisely and reproducibly. It is used, among other things, when damage to the central motor pathways is suspected and for monitoring over time.
Polygraphy
A combined overnight recording of several body signals (including heart rate, respiration, oxygen saturation, and movement) for an initial assessment of sleep quality and autonomic regulation. We use it in particular for fatigue and cognitive decline, where sleep disturbances often play a role.
Biofeedback/neurofeedback
Real-time feedback of the body’s own signals — such as heart rate variability (HRV) — to measure and train self-regulation, stress processing, and recovery. It is used for stress-related complaints and fatigue, and as a complement to neuromodulation approaches.
Standardized scores and assessments
Validated questionnaires and tests that capture symptoms and their course in a structured way — for example, in memory complaints, fatigue, headache, or depressive symptoms. The results feed directly into diagnosis and treatment planning.

Additional tests (such as imaging) and interdisciplinary second opinions are available at short notice — comprehensive, academically grounded care under one roof.
